Writer’s block

It’s been a month since I picked out my wedding card. I liked how simple and elegant it was… is. A square maroon card with a small, golden image of Ganeshji, bang in the middle, with a shimmery copper border along the sides of the card. I’m sure you get the picture. Ironically, this was exactly what I didn’t want in the beginning.

On the inside, it’s plain maroon. I’ve imagined that the text would be in a glowing copper or gold font. Like I said, I’ve imagined so. There’s no text yet.

I’ve been driving my folks mad because I do not want a “We cordially invite you” or a “We request the pleasure of your company”. My brother ended his invite with “Peace Yo!” Oh God help me. Since I wanted something different, I need to come up with some interesting text myself. Bah!

Well, all I want is for my friends/well wishers to attend my wedding. Yes, it’s in the middle of the week, during month end/quarter end or when colours change from pink to red. But yeah, apparently it is the most auspicious day around this time of the year. So what’s the prograaaam like? Here goes…

- The Nischaythamboolam/Engagement ceremony (yes, again) – 29th August, 2007; 5:30 pm onwards
- The Muhurtham/Wedding ceremony – 30th August, 2007; 7 am onwards
- The Reception – 30th August, 2007; 7 pm onwards

The venue? S.J.P.S.V.V.S Mutt, Vibhutipura, Marathalli Post, Bengaluru – 560037. The name is quite difficult to remember, but trust me the directions aren’t. Call/mail me sometime and I’ll help you out.

While I tie myself to the chair to type out the text for my invitation card, you guys block your dates. Book your tickets for Bengaluru now.

Psst… Air Deccan has announced cheap flight tickets in today’s TOI.
