Home at last... DAMN!!!
It's been three days since I got home. By home I now mean B'lore (sigh).
Don't take me in the wrong sense. I love being here. I've been meeting up with old pals (hehee, I'm not the only one who's added a few pounds), eating Amma's food (Gujju's should give up trying to cook South Indian Meals), picking up fights with my brother, riding my rickety bike, learning new routes to familiar destinations (thanks to the hazaaar One-Ways), getting used to what my Dad calls "regular" sleep timings (wake up at 6.30 and sleep by midnight)... Aaah! Life's good so far.
Still can't believe that I'm not a student anymore (at least not for a while). Was looking through some recent pictures... the Farewell, the Lounge Party etc. Can't help but sigh. I really can't put a finger on what I'm feeling. I'm not entirely missing MICA, I'm not entirely missing my friends yet, I do have internet access all day... but it's all just a blur. I don't think the feeling has sunk in yet.
But yes, at the end of the day, I do want my own 10 by 10 room, I want to see the Post-its on my cupboard, I want to look at the "Welcome Back" posters my friends had put up for me, I want to sit by my window and gaze at the beautiful OAT outside, I want to look under the bed to pull out my bucket, slippers etc, I want to eat Namkeen out of my "Food Bag", I want to open my drawer and find a half eaten Fruit n Nut bar, I want to open my cupboard and secretly eat my "Good" chocolates, I want people to wander into my room asking for food, I want to irritate people by playing songs on repeat mode, I want them to irritate me by ruining songs I love, I want to yell out names of friends and ask them "Do you want to wake up/ Do you want to go for lunch", I want to remind people that on Tuesdays we need to go to the temple, I want to watch English horror classics dubbed in Hindi, I want to watch K3G for the nth time, I want to have Chai at 1 in the morning, I want to play Badminton till 4 in the morning, I want to tell people that I'll murder them when they crack PJ's, I want to bug the life out of friends (or those who used to be)... SIGH...
On a happier note though, our Convocation was the prettiest (except for the bees that did manage to disrupt the proceedings). We laughed, we cried, we hugged and cried even more, we said our Goodbyes and then yes, cried even more.
For all those I love and will miss, I do hope we meet again.
