Rain in Summer... Spring, Autumn and Winter

I learnt this poem 'Rain in Summer' by Robert Louis Stevenson when I was in the third standard (I confess, I almost said "grade". Fullto Amricaan and all).

So when I heard I was moving to Seattle, almost everyone I knew of... sorry, everyone I knew of said, "Oh but it rains so much in Seattle!".

It rains during the day, evening and night. It's sunny one minute, it rains the other. It's snowing one minute, and it rains the other. It's windy one minute... you get the idea. Basically there's no particular rainy season. It's always rainy season.

Hence I sit at home, eat food that's typically rain food - steaming cup of adhrakh chai/coffee, hot chocolate, fried food, melty cheese. Lounge in my giant couch, wrapped under a warm blanket, watch Hugh Grant, the Food Network or Tyra Banks (my sincere apologies).

[Rain or no rain, I do all of the above otherwise too. Does one wonder why I've put on loads of weight?]

No. One does not wonder. The chub has been there for ever and ever, and has seen a zillion chocolates and oodles of cheese.

And that's when there was no rain to blame :P

Tell me now, does a smouldering seven cheese dip not sound inviting. And if it does, is it not polite-ity to honour that invite?

Regardless, my first diligence it towards chocolate and cheese, others come behind... waaaay behind.

Totally agree with you. Few things mean so much more than many other irrelevant stuff.
